Contrary to Arsenal/Arsene Wenger’s sluggish start and reaction to players transfers, the London club has virtually signed 23 years old Sead Kolasinac.
Interestingly, the Bosnian is coming to the Emirates on a free transfer. This is consistent with the type of shrewd deals the long serving Wenger is renowned for and also suggests that the French is likely to stay with the Gunners for a season or two more contrary to popular expectations.
Born in Geramny, Kolasinac is a left back that played for Schalke in the Bundesliga. He represented Germany in the junior cadres before opting to play for Bosnia at the senior levels.
His signing is seen as a long term replacement effort by Arsenal for Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs.
Wenger recently changed his formation and Kolasinac’s pace will aid in that respect to build up play quickly from the back while increasing options for midfields looking to exploit spaces on the wings.
Yet to be seen is when the official announcement will be made. However from statistics and comparison with Arsenal’s player in similar positions; Kolasinac (at 23) is already looking a great prospect for the Gunners!
In related developments, Arsenal are also heavily linked with Everton star Ross Barkley. Also 23, the Gunners will probably cough up £50million or more to convince the Merseysiders to part with their prized jewel.
Barkley will like replace Ozil who is currently stalling on signing a new contract due to the Gunners precarious situation in qualifying for the Champions League.
